A thoughtful family conversation can make a new beginning easier. The best support helps someone express their own priorities, ask useful questions and make an unpressured decision.

Invite a trusted helper

The candidate can invite a family member through the Family helper section. The invitation is tied to the invited email account. The helper can review the introduction available to them and send suggested wording.

Agree on a shared approach

Discuss which details are appropriate to share, who will join early conversations and how quickly the candidate wants to move. Agree before sharing someone else’s occupation, location or personal circumstances in the family section.

Some decisions remain personal

A helper cannot spend the candidate’s credits, complete identity verification on their behalf, access private identity or income documents, or approve contact disclosure. The candidate can remove helper access.

A practical first discussion

Start with location, career plans, languages, family involvement and a comfortable timeline. Listen for the candidate’s own answers. Preferences can develop as someone understands what matters to them.

When expectations differ

Use the profile as a starting point for conversation, not a promise made by the family. Give both candidates space to ask questions and decline respectfully. Consent is not a one-time checkbox supplied by somebody else.
